GCERT Information 
It was "State Institute of Education" before 1988. It was later redesigned as a SCERT in 1988, under the goals of State Education Department. The overhauled SCERT, presently named as Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT) is a completely organized State level scholastic establishment and is controlled and guided by a Governing body just as an Executive Committee. 

GCERT was moved from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar, the State Capital in 1997. State Education Department has allocated separate land for the GCERT for working in area 12. Consequently the GCERT has been working in the recently developed structure "VIDYABHAVAN" in area 12 with current foundation and most recent gear since 21st August, 2004 taking into account the extending skyline.
